Department of Home Science-Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is established in the year 2018, with under graduate programme in B.Sc Home Science-Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Semester with CBCS Syllabus is followed for the B.Sc course.
The Department aims to develop academically competent and professionally motivated personals, equipped with objective and critical thinking that compassionately foster the scientific temper with a sense of social responsibility.
Department of Home Science-Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is established in the year 2018, with under graduate programme in B.Sc Home Science-Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Semester with CBCS Syllabus is followed for the B.Sc course.
The programme enables the students to update their knowledge in Clinical Nutrition and develop key skills in translational research relevant to the hospital and community setting. The curriculum includes the core papers like Food Science, Human Physiology, Human nutrition, Advance Dietetics, Human development, Food Service Management and Sports Nutrition that prepares the students to step into health care industry.

B.Sc HOME SCIENCE -CLINICAL NUTRITION & DIETETICS | Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Home Science- Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics will be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations with chemistry conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the Syndicate of the University of Madras. |

Internet facility is made available for the students.
The Digital Library is functioning actively and the students can make use of it.
The students will learn different principles, common food preparation methods and chemistry underlying the properties of various food components. Student gain knowledge on food groups, food pyramid and understand cooking methods with the application in balanced menu planning.
The student will utilize knowledge from foundational sciences as a basis for understanding the role of food and nutrients in health and disease and apply knowledge of biochemistry and physiology to human nutrient metabolism.
Students will have a strong foundation in nutritional programmes and policies to overcome malnutrition. Student understand the role of national, international and voluntary nutritional organizations to combat malnutrition and able to organize community nutrition education programme.
The course will help the student to understand the principles of clinical nutrition and to correlate with the biochemical findings
The course will learn about the importance of entrepreneurship as an effective to a "White collar job.
