Department of Biochemistry was started in 1993 to foster knowledge on the subject and for teaching at the under-graduate level. Since its inception, the department has trained around 1000 Biochemists - many of whom are occupying prestigious positions all over the world. At present, the department is offering Post Graduate programme in Biochemistry and research programmes M.Phil. and Ph.D.

• To provide comprehensive Biochemical education to our students.

• To become a centre for academic excellence in Biochemistry.

• To conduct high qualities teaching in Biochemistry and to effectively transmit our knowledge in Biochemistry to the industry and to the general public.
